Fordite Visionary Pendant
Fordite, also known at Detroit agate, is not a mineral but old automotive paint that came from the assembly lines of the Ford Motor Co. It is the over-spray that hardened sufficiently enough to be cut and polished by lapidary artists. The process that Fordite came from is no longer in use, making the material harder and harder to find. Enjoy the history of this Michigan repurposed material in wearable form. It tells a story of where we came from and where we are today.
Details:
Oxidized sterling silver, fordite & stainless steel cable wire (optional)
Pendant is approximately 3” in height
Stainless steel cable wire comes in 16”, 18” and 20”
